Jerry Hester started the firm when he opened the Law Office of Jerry Hester, P.C. in 1975, and then he was joined in his practice by his son, Justin in 2000. Then in 2006 Justin joined Jerry as a partner, and the firm’s name was changed to Hester & Hester, P.C.
Jerry and Justin practiced as Hester & Hester until the end of 2013 when Jerry and his wife moved to St. Simons Island. Hester & Hester already had an office on St. Simons Island and in addition to his law practice Jerry established the mediation firm of Golden Isles Mediation, LLC.
Jim Outman, who had been out of private practice for over 20 years returned to private practice in 2000 when the firm Claiborne, Outman & Surmay, P.C. was formed. Jim retired from that firm in early 2010 and continued to practice as the Law Office of James B. Outman, LLC. Then in early 2014 Jim joined forces with Jerry and Justin to form the new firm of Hester Outman LLC. Both Jerry and Jim became “of counsel” to the firm and Justin is the managing member.
Jim and Jerry have known each other since the late 1970’s because they both have handled adoption-related matters since then. When Jim practiced with his predecessor firms he associated Jerry and Justin on cases where additional representation was needed.
Justin, Jerry, and Jim cooperate as needed to apply their 100+ years of experience in adoption matters to serve the firm’s clients. In addition to their adoption specialization, Jerry and Justin have extensive trial experience, and their civil litigation practice includes divorce and family law, business litigation, and personal injury and torts law.
As a firm, we specialize in all types of adoptions, private and agency, termination of parental rights, and all family law issues. We are prepared to travel anywhere in the State of Georgia for all private/independent/ agency placement adoptions.
